Exploring America

Travis Kerkvliet is an author and traveler who enjoys exploring new places and learning their stories. As the creator of Timber the Owl and author of Wonders of the Wild, he shares his love for nature and storytelling through his book and travels.

He loves visiting national parks, state capitols, and small towns across America. Haunted hotels and historic prisons are some of his favorite stops because they carry pieces of the past you can still feel today.

Travis has a goal to visit every state, capitol, and national park in the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. Every adventure adds something new to his story and reminds him why he loves to travel.

When he is not on the road, Travis enjoys creating art, writing, and spending time with his wife, Dawn, their children, Benson and Molina, and their dogs, Halzey and Rusty. He continues to travel with the same curiosity and appreciation that started it all.
